Leave me alone to my third world devices...

Blast from the Past...

Umiindak ang paa sa kumpas ng tugtuging bago...
Hanggang kumpas ka na lang at 'di mo na alam ang tono...

Discovered Jim Paredes' blog. Paredes is 3rd of legendary, iconic trio Apo Hiking Society. Their songs colored my childhood years... "pumapatak na naman ang ulan so bubong ng bahay"... I was too young to drink beer then, I didn't have a syota, and I didn't have a barkada (at least, not 'til the year I left), but I got what they meant. The romance, the anti-Marcos, anti-colonial/corporation politics, the humor, the lazy days, the pro-Pinoy tugtugin and pride sentiment... Check out the rest of the tunes and enjoy the 70's and the '80s all over again.

If I were living in Sydney, i'd totally sign up my kids for guitar lessons with Kuya Jim.
